Through the Early Childhood Education Program, Barium Springs Home for Children provides consultation and training to child care centers, providers and agencies throughout North Carolina. Designated as a Model Childcare Center by the Duke Endowment, the program provides consultation and training in various forms in an effort to improve the quality of early childcare and education throughout the state.

Early Childhood Training and Outreach staff provide trainings in a variety of formats, levels, and time blocks. Trainings are customized to provide high quality professional development opportunities that meet the needs of providers and the community. Technical Assistance and Consultation is available to child care centers or agencies that are striving to improve their level of licensure, achieve accreditation or improve overall level of quality in their center or community. Click here to view or download our Training Catalog. It contains topics and descriptions as well as a request form.

“ When I first started living at Barium Springs, I was very angry. I felt like no one wanted me and at times my thoughts turned to suicide. Now, I no longer feel unwanted. The staff at Barium Springs have showed me that there are people in this world who care for me. ”
Susan, age 17
